Refund Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026  ·  Applies to all purchases on Aethrym

This policy explains when we refund a purchase and when we do not. It is written to be checkable rather than vague — in most cases you can tell which situation you are in before you write to us.

Aethrym is operated by Dávid Schumer, Fritzova 4258/2, 586 01 Jihlava, Czechia. Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record.

The short version

You have not used any of the messages you bought. Write to us within 14 days and we refund it in full.
You have started using them. The purchase is not refundable — the service has been delivered.
Something on our side went wrong. You paid and did not get what you bought, or the game was unusable. We refund it regardless of how much you used.

Why it works this way

Every message you send costs us money the moment you send it. The AI that narrates the game charges us per message, and that charge is not reversible. A refund after a hundred messages would mean we paid for your game twice.

So the line is drawn where the cost begins: before you have used anything, nothing has been spent, and you get your money back.

Your right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital services this right ends once the service has started — if you asked for it to start immediately and acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal.

You confirm this at checkout. Before you pay, Stripe shows you a box saying you are asking for access to start straight away and that this ends your right of withdrawal. Nothing is hidden in the small print.

Until you use a message, we treat the purchase as not yet started and refund it on request within 14 days.

Subscriptions

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your profile. Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not refund the period you already paid for, and you keep access until that period ends.

Renewals you did not notice. If a subscription renewed and you have not played since the renewal, write to us. We will look at when the account was last active and refund that payment if the account has genuinely been unused.

Part-used periods are not refunded. If you cancel halfway through a month, you keep the rest of the month rather than getting half your money back.

Quarterly plans follow the same rule as monthly ones: unused means refundable within 14 days, used means delivered.

Message packs

Message packs are refundable while none of them have been used. Once you have started spending them, they are not.

Packs are only drawn on after your plan's monthly messages have run out. That means buying a pack does not immediately start using it, and a pack bought and untouched can still be refunded.

If a refund is issued, any unused messages from that purchase are removed from the account.

Access after a refund

When a refund is issued, the access it paid for ends. Your plan returns to free and messages purchased with that payment are removed.

Your characters stay. We do not delete your stories because a payment was reversed — you simply cannot play them until you are on a plan that allows it.

Repeated requests

We may refuse a refund where there is a pattern of buying, using and asking for the money back, or other activity suggesting the policy is being worked around rather than used.

This is not aimed at anyone who changes their mind once. It exists because the cost of a message is real and paid before any refund is possible.

How to ask

Email rmyx.studio@gmail.com and include:

We aim to answer within a few days. Refunds are returned to the card you paid with; how quickly it appears is up to your bank, usually five to ten days.

You can also check your own purchase history at any time — it is in your profile, with dates and amounts.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes apply from the date the updated version is posted, and do not affect purchases you already made.

Nothing in this policy limits any refund rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived. Where the law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
